On November 12, 2019, Mr. Liwei Lv, a lifelong professor of the Department of Pathology of the University of Hong Kong, was invited to the school to give lectures and give offline guidance to graduate students. Professor Lv is the chairman of the Hong Kong Society of Immunology, the executive director of the Asia Pacific Association for Immunology (FIMSA), the director of the East Asian Rheumatism Alliance, and the secretary general of the Hong Kong Association of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Served as an evaluation expert for key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and an evaluation expert for the National Science Foundation of Canada, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Austria, Singapore, and the British Arthritis Research Fund. Has been engaged in the research of basic immunology and autoimmune diseases. He has published more than 130 papers in international journals of immunology and rheumatology, edited and participated in the editing of 5 books. For his outstanding contributions, he won the David Rae Award of the Canadian Leukemia Foundation in 2000; the Young Scientist Award of the Hong Kong Society of Immunology in 2003; the Outstanding Teaching Award of the University of Hong Kong School of Medicine in 2008; the Croucher Outstanding Research Award of Hong Kong in 2012; 2013, Won the Hong Kong University Outstanding Research Award; 2015, Beijing Science and Technology Award; 2017, China Medical Science and Technology Award; 2018, China Medical Science and Technology Award. At 8 o'clock in the morning on the 12th, Professor Lv gave a lecture entitled "B cell development and B cell biological function" at 207 of the graduate building. He gave a wonderful and vivid description of "the discovery history, growth history and functional role of B cells", answering questions such as "What are B cells? How do B cells mature? What role do B cells play in the body?" and other questions, young students are encouraged to discover and challenge books, and the atmosphere is warm. After the lecture, Professor Liwei LV was invited to the International Genome Center and gave on-site guidance to graduate students.
