PhD and Postdoctoral positions in plant-pathogen interactions

Job descriptions:

Multiple PhD and postdoc positions are currently available in Dr. Jian Chen's group at Jiangsu University. Our research group specializes in investigating the salicylic acid signaling pathway during plant-pathogen interactions. We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a strong background in biochemistry and molecular biology. Preference will be given to candidates who possess extensive experience in protein-protein interactions and post-translational modifications. Additionally, candidates with significant expertise in crop-pathogen interactions or plant abiotic stress are encouraged to apply. The postdoc position offers a competitive salary ranging from 200,000 to 250,000 CNY per year, dependent on qualifications and experience. The contract duration is two years.

The research projects focus on the following topics: 1, NPR1 and EDS1 play important roles in SA-mediated plant immunity. Pseudomonas syringae secretes type III effector proteins into the plant cells to cause disease. Through yeast two-hybrid screening, we identified several effector proteins that interact with NPR1 or EDS1. We currently sought to understand the biological effect of these interactions. 2, We identified several proteins that interact with NPR1 in Arabidopsis. One of the most interesting protein belongs to the RNA binding protein family. We are trying to characterize the function of the protein and its role in plant immunity. 3, Our previous study found that CDK8 positively regulates NPR1 gene expression. But its roles in crop resistant to biotic and abiotic stress are still not well understood. This project aims to further reveal its role in plant-pathogen interaction and abiotic stress. 4, Identification of transcription co-activator network that are involves in salicylic acid signaling pathway. 5. Characterization of the function of transcription co-activators in rice/tomato biotic and abiotic stress.

Qualifications:

A Ph.D. degree in Plant Biology, Plant Pathology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field. A solid publication record, strong oral and written communication skills, and excellent wet lab techniques.

How to apply:
