Date:2023-10-08 View:

Recently, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) announced the funding results for the 2023 Foreign Young Scholar Research Fund. Dr. Sulaiman Ahmed, a postdoctoral researcher in Professor Chen Jian's research group at our center, has been awarded this funding (Project Title: Sweet potato Xyem NAC domain transcription factor 1 (bXND1) interacts with TIFy10a to modulate plant morphology via trade-off under stress responses for better plant adaptability). Dr. Sulaiman Ahmed received his Ph.D. from Zhejiang University and is currently involved in the study of the mechanisms of transcription factors responding to abiotic stress. During his postdoctoral research, under the guidance of Professor Chen Jian, Dr. Sulaiman Ahmed has published important papers as the first author or co-first author in Plant Physiology and Redox Biology. In addition, he has also been funded by the Chinese Postdoctoral Fund. Professor Chen Jian's research group has been long engaged in the study of the mechanisms of salicylic acid signaling components regulating plant biotic and abiotic stress. They have published more than 20 SCI papers in high-level journals such as Trends in Plant Science, Molecular Plant, Trends in Biochemical Sciences, Trends in Microbiology, Trends in Genetics, Trends in Parasitology, Plant Physiology, Plant Cell and Environment. Foreign Ph.D. candidates are welcome to join the research group and apply for the Foreign Young Scholar Research Fund.
